Camp Comforts

camp comforts

Accommodations in our hunting camps vary from area to area:  either traditional Hemingway-style tented camps, hunting lodges or permanent bungalows under thatch.  Each tent, room or bungalow is fully furnished, has its own bathroom with hot water and a flush toilet and typically accommodates 2 people. Tents have mosquito netting. Our South African camps have swimming pools.

All camps in South Africa are supplied with electricity from the national grid. Camps in Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe are powered by generators and solar panels.

Camps are fully serviced by friendly staff.  Laundry is done daily.

Mobile phone reception is available either in or near our South African camps.  Emergency calls can be made from satellite phones in the other countries.

Meals are freshly prepared in camp using fresh local produce.  Venison is included in the menu if you so prefer.  A breakfast of your choice is enjoyed before leaving camp in the morning.  Soft drinks, bottled water, fruit and sandwiches are packed in the lunch box on the hunting vehicle. Depending on the day’s hunting plans, you will have lunch either in camp or in the veld.  After drinks and snacks around the fire in the evening, a three course dinner is served.

Soft drinks, fresh juice, bottled water and alcoholic beverages are available.  Meals are accompanied by fine South African wines.

A comprehensive questionnaire will be sent to you to enable us to understand your preferences.

On bird hunts, our guests are accommodated at luxurious 4-star country estates, with cuisine and a wine selection to match.
